Governor Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi disclosed at Wesley College of Science, Ibadan, where the e-learning system was demonstrated.
The e-learning system, which presents a new state-of-the-art teaching and learning method, is expected to enhance flow of information among students, teachers and between the school management and the ministry of education.
One hundred and thirty two (132) schools are to be connected with the system with two primary and secondary schools to be connected in each of the 33 local governments of the state.
Ajimobi said the introduction of e-learning system has signified the determination and commitment of his government to improve education sector in the state.
“The programme will enhance effective teaching and learning process which will eventually improve the performance of students, particularly in public examinations. I, therefore, implored our students to avail themselves of the programme,” he said.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Solomon Olaniyonu, said that the system would prepare them for the computer-based examinations being introduced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
