The second edition of the annual Ramadan lecture of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter will hold on the 22nd of May, 2019 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan.

According to a press release from the Secretary of the Association, Mr Adewale Tijani, the Ramadan lecture titled “Sports As Vehicle for Promotion of Islam” will be delivered by a multi lingual entrepreneur, philanthropist and sports promoter, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde.

The 2019 annual Oyo SWAN Ramadan lecture will have the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Youths and Sports, Mr Bolaji Repete, as its Special Guest of Honour while the State Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports Mr Abayomi Oke will be on seat as the Chief Host.

The Chairman Oyo State Football Association Oba James Odeniran, the Chairman Shooting Stars Sports Club Mr Gbolagade Busari as well as the team’s General Manager Mr Rasheed Balogun and the Acting General Manager Mr Gboyega Makinde will also grace the occasion as Special Guests.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Ramadan lecture, Mr Lanre Agiri and the State Chairman of SWAN who will also double as the Host of the event, Mr Niyi Alebiosu assured that this year’s lecture will be an improvement on the maiden edition which was held last year.

“In sha Allah, this year’s lecture will be highly beneficial to all attendees in terms of knowledge acquisition and spiritual upliftment and enrichment”, Mr Agiri said.
