President Hussain made this disclosure when he addressed the Nigeria-Pakistan business community in Abuja yesterday at the conclusion of the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between both countries in Agriculture, control of drugs and Narcotic and industrial cooperation.
He also hinted of the agreement between both countries to negotiate a bilateral trade agreement and to consider signing of economic partnership agreement.
Goldman Sachs economist expects that by 2050, Pakistan would become the 18th largest economy in the world with a GDP of US$ 3.33 trillion.
According to President Hussain: “it is time to begin a new, concrete and mutually beneficial relationship and we must make full effort to harness our huge potentials and the presence of our business community is a manifestation of our desire to deepen trade amongst ourselves” The commercial consulate will facilitate business-to-business and government-to-government trade agreement.
Also speaking at the forum, the Vice Minister of Commerce of Pakistan, Jazel Abbas Maken said the country will give technical assistance to Nigeria to revamp the country ailing garment industry.
Earlier, the Minister of Industry Trade and Investment Dr Olusegun Aganga said Nigeria is discussing with Pakistan to facilitate multiple entry visa for ease of trade for business men of both countries, promotion of joint development bank and the establishment of Nigeria-Pakistan chambers of commerce.
