The Palestinian Embassy in Nigeria has offered free healthcare to 100 orphaned children in Abuja over the weekend.

The Ambassador of the Palestinian Embassy in Nigeria, Muhannad Hammouri, said the children were from both Christian and Muslim orphanage homes in Abuja.

He said the gesture, which also included a lunch, was the embassy’s little way of thanking Nigeria for its support to the people of Palestine since the start of the war with Israel.

“Today (Saturday) is a very special day for us in Palestine to show solidarity and to pay in return and to thank Nigeria for everything Nigeria gave us and will give us and has always been giving us.

“This is just a small gift from our Palestinian orphans and children to our sons and daughters here in Nigeria,” he said.

The ambassador, however, lamented about the situation in Gaza, saying, “Nothing has changed since the last (Donald) Trump initiative, which was supposed to end the war. Daily, we hear of some Palestinians being killed.

“Even today, this morning, I woke up, and I heard there were some Palestinian casualties and they were killed by the Israelis.

“The medical situation in Palestine is still critical, and the borders between Palestine and Gaza, especially and the outside world are still blocked by the Israelis.
