Palliatives: Sadiya Farouq shines online after months of bashing

The ongoing spate of looting has exposed the palliatives supposedly stashed for Nigerians at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown.

On the ground, residents uncovered warehouse destinations and struck.

Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, is a name closely associated with palliatives at the height of the lockdown.

The ministry said it had distributed assorted food items to states for onward distribution to the most vulnerable population but the claim was rebuffed by many saying they did not benefit from the gesture.

And of course, Farouq and the ministry she’s spearheading were
called out severally for allegedly siphoning the palliatives.

Now, she is looking golden.

Forgive those that accused you

Some members of the online community are asking Farouq to forgive those who accused her of syphoning the palliatives.

Ca-COVID is different from FG

Videos available from some of the warehouses show that the looted items have the CaCOVID stamp on them.

Many say the palliatives are not from the Federal Government but from private companies.

Hold your state government accountable

And now, members of the online community say, state governments should be held accountable for hoarding the items and not Farouq.

Efforts to speak with the Minister on Sunday were not successful as her telephone line was not connecting.

She was yet to respond to a text message also.
