The Gombe State Police Command has paraded 11 suspects over alleged armed robbery and cattle rustling.

Parading the suspects yesterday, the state Commissioner of Police, Shina Tairu Olukolu, said the suspects were arrested by the police based on credible information from members of the public. 

He said two alleged cattle rustlers, Usman Saleh, 30, from Yobe State and Mohammed Mustapha Garba, 20, from Gombe State were intercepted at Dadin Kowa town with 35 cattle they could not account for. 

Olukolu added that the police had also arrested one Bala Iliya, who allegedly belonged to a notorious gang that specialized in snatching motorcycles at gun point. 

He said the suspect was arrested between Kwadon and Gona areas of the state with a locally fabricated pistol used for armed robbery and recovered two motorcycles.

The command also paraded seven other suspects armed with a Dane gun, who were said to be members of a group that attempted to take laws into their hands by attempting to arrest someone they accused of threatening a member of their group.

Olukolu also paraded the trio of Mohammed Hassan, Hassan Ibrahim and Babangida Abubakar all residents of Gombe metropolis, over alleged attempt to attack a church along Gombe main market last Sunday.

The suspects reportedly accused the church of being responsible for an accident that occurred near it on Sunday, after one lane of the road was closed during service.
