Paris 2024: We’re ready for Olympics – Waldrum

Super Falcons in camp

Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has declared that his side are fully prepared for the Olympic Games despite the late arrival of some players.

The Nigerian women’s national team are one of the two African teams heading to the Paris Olympics. They have been drawn in possibly the toughest group, with Japan and Spain completing the set.

In an interview with The Super Falcons Show, Waldrum ascertained the preparedness of the Super Falcons ahead of the friendly against Canada. He revealed that some players were late to camp but stressed that they managed to reach a high level despite the setback.

We have had a great camp; the players have worked extremely hard,” Waldrum said.

“Unfortunately, we’ve had a few come into the camp a little bit late, but the level has been extremely high and the players look very very focused moving forward for the Olympics,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 2004 quarter-finalists Nigeria are scheduled to arrive in the French city of Bordeaux on Thursday (today) night Spain aboard an Air France flight as the countdown begins for their first outing at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in 16 years.

The delegation of 18 players, four alternate players and officials is scheduled to arrive at the team’s Hotel Mercure abode minutes before midnight.

The Super Falcons play Brazil in just over a week, specifically on July 25th. The matches against Spain and Japan are scheduled for July 28th and 31st, respectively.
