Pastor chases robbers from his home in Kwara

A pastor, Reverend Isaiah Ibikunle Afolayan, of the St Barnabas’ Cathedral, Anglican Communion, Sabo Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State, on Tuesday around 2am chased away two robbers who invaded his house.

It was learnt however that the robbers went away with items worth millions of naira.

Speaking to newsmen, Rev Afolayan said, “We were sleeping. When we heard a sound, we saw one of the robbers standing in our room with a sharp object in his hand. He threatened to kill us if we made any noise and asked us to face down. I asked him, ‘Who are you and what are you doing here?’ He then picked up my laptop and ran out. I followed him but he hit me with the door. As he ran out of the apartment, he fell down and got up again. This morning we got a necklace where he fell and the case has been reported to the police. My laptop, a fairly used MacBook Pro worth N1.3m, a TV set and phone were all stolen.”

A community leader, Pastor Taiwo Ajibola, said the robbers who came on a motorcycle were sighted by local security men.

The police spokesman in Kwara, Ajayi Okasanmi, said he would call the division and get back to press men.
