Payaza unveils ‘Chat & Pay’ feature for faster payments on WhatsApp

Payaza Africa Limited, a leading fintech company in Africa, has launched Chat & Pay, a new WhatsApp-based payment feature designed to help businesses streamline collections and eliminate delays in receiving payments.

According to the company, the solution is aimed at simplifying how businesses receive payments by integrating a seamless and automated process directly into everyday messaging platforms.

“For many small and medium-sized businesses, payment collection remains one of the biggest operational challenges. It often involves a tedious cycle of delayed transfers, manual verification, and constant exposure to fraudulent alerts. To bridge this gap, Payaza Africa has launched Chat & Pay.

“The Chat & Pay feature addresses these challenges by providing businesses with a dedicated WhatsApp number for payments, supported by an automated and intelligent checkout experience. Instead of navigating multiple apps, merchants can now receive payments directly within WhatsApp, where customers initiate and complete transactions seamlessly.

“The impact of this automated flow is immediate. Payments are verified in real-time, improving cash flow and reducing the operational stress of manual reconciliation. By centralizing the transaction within the chat, the solution is expected to improve efficiency for businesses, reduce revenue leakage, and enhance overall trust in digital transactions,” the firm noted.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Technology Officer of Payaza Africa, Philips Akinyele, said the innovation removes traditional bottlenecks associated with payment processing.

“With the Chat & Pay feature, businesses no longer have to chase payments or verify transactions manually. We are giving them a faster, more reliable way to get paid,” he said.

He added that the launch reflects the company’s commitment to supporting business growth in emerging markets.

“By providing tools that align with how commerce is currently happening, Payaza is ensuring that businesses can scale without the traditional bottlenecks of payment processing,” he added.

Payaza provides innovative payment solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large corporations across four continents. With operations spanning Africa, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, the company is focused on promoting financial inclusion and driving economic growth through technology-enabled financial services.
