We have new governors in place now while in some states, their governors returned for a second term. I need to state clearly that they must know that the welfare of the people they are governing matters and they should ensure that they do not compromise on it.

Every worker deserves his/her wages. Workers who have done their jobs do not need to beg for salaries. Projects are important but they should not be done at the detriment of workers; governors should try to strike a balance. It is no longer news that the crime rate in the country has gone up. Efforts are being made to address the situation but not much will be achieved if people are not being paid. This is because when they are not paid, they may look for other ways to survive. Governors should look inwards and boost internal revenue generation. There is no state that is totally poor. Every state is blessed with one resource or the other; all that needs to be done is for it to be identified and harnessed. Governors should stop travelling, stay in their states and look for ways of moving them forward.
