PCN calls for youths empowerment

Non Governmental and Civil Society organisations have been urged to engage more in activities that will prevent youths from engaging in crimes and civil unrest in the society. The National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dr Dickson Akoh made the call during the inauguration of the FCT Command of the Organisation in Abuja. Dr Akoh also appealed to the Federal Government to reinstate its annual subvention to its affiliated Voluntary Youth Organisations to encourage them to meaningfully engage the youths.  
In his  remark, the Secretary General of the Universal Peace Federation, Dr Ralph  Okoh called for the establishment of Peace College of Education where youths would be educated on the need for peaceful co existence. He urged Nigerians to promote inter-religious harmony to sustain peace in the nation. The FCT Commandant of PCN, Dr Edet Ekpenyong said members of the organisation had been engaging students in public and private schools in the territory on the principles of discipline, good morals and environmental sanitation.
