PCN seals 299 pharmacies, patent shops in Sokoto
Mohammed, who was represented by PCN’s Director of Enforcement, Pharm Stephen Esumobi, said a total of 536 were visited, adding that 37 of the sealed premises were pharmacies while the rest were patent medicine shops.
The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) has sealed 299 pharmacies and patent medicine shops across 10 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.
Registrar of the Council, Pharmacist Elijah Mohammed, who disclosed this Friday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the Council’s enforcement exercise in the state, identified the affected LGAs as Sokoto South, Sokoto North, Wamakko, Kware, Binji, Bodinga, Shagari, Yabo, Tambuwal, Kebbe, Tureta and Dange Shuni.
Mohammed, who was represented by PCN’s Director of Enforcement, Pharm Stephen Esumobi, said a total of 536 were visited, adding that 37 of the sealed premises were pharmacies while the rest were patent medicine shops.
He added that the premises were sealed for offences such as poor storage and sanitary conditions; failure to renew licenses and dispensing of ethical products without the supervision of a pharmacist, amongst others.
