PCRC condemns killing of US Embassy staff, wants intelligence gathering strengthened

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Usman Baba

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has condemned the killings of United States local staff and mobile police officers attached to the embassy in Anambra State.

It demanded immediate restructuring of the intelligence gathering method in the South East.

It also urged residents to support the police in curbing the violence, terrorist attacks and cultism in Anambra and the country at large.

PCRC National Chairman, Mogaji Olaniyan, in a statement yesterday by Kunle Sodipo, the committee’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, described the killings as “callous”.

He settled the rift among state executive members of the committee and charged them to focus on their mandate of bringing peace to the troubled zone.

He expressed dismay over lingering crisis among members of the executive in the South East.

He urged everyone to carry the PCRC interest above personal or parochial interest.
