The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and leading opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State are set for another round of electoral battle over Tudunwada/Doguwa federal constituency seat, Daily Trust can report.

An appeal court siting in Kaduna State had recently sacked Rep Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the member representing Tudunwada/Doguwa federal constituency in Kano and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh election in the constituency.

Our correspondent reports that although INEC has not fixed the date for the conduct of the rerun election, the two major political parties have already started laying claim to being better placed to win the poll. While PDP says it will retake the seat from APC, the latter has vowed to retain it in the re-run poll.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Trust, PDP State Chairman Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi assured the party’s supporters that it is set to takeover Tudunwada/Doguwa federal constituency in the forthcoming re-run election.

His APC counterpart in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, while speaking, denied the alleged use of thugs by his party in the last general elections, saying the claim was untrue and unfounded.
