PDP chairmanship candidates for FCT area councils poll emerge

Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidates for FCT area councils’ poll have emerged after the party conducted its primary last Thursday.

In AMAC, a one-time chairman of the council, Mrs. Vivian Anazodo, emerged winner of the party’s chairmanship primary. She polled 110 votes to defeat her opponent, Alhaji Jafara Gwagwalada, who got 97 votes.

A former chairman of Kwali area council, Mr. Ibrahim Daniel, also won the ticket  after he scored 152 votes to defeat his opponent, Mohammed Haruna Pai, who got 80 votes.

Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Ashafa, was affirmed as the chairmanship candidate of (PDP) in Abaji area council, having contested unopposed.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Ibrahim Ibwa, had emerged as the chairmanship candidate of Gwagwalada area council under the party’s platform.

Ibwa was declared unopposed after seven other aspirants stepped down for him during the party’s primary in which 263 delegates were expected to vote.

Abdullahi Sabo, won the party’s chairmanship ticket in Kuje area council, having polled 108 votes to defeat Alhaji Hassan Bako, who got 95 votes during the party’s primaries in which 225 delegates voted.

In Bwari, Dr. John Gabaya Shekwogaza, emerged the chairmanship candidate, after he polled 106 votes as against Adagami Hassan, who got 57 votes.
