Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal on Sunday came second at the presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Announcing the results, the governor of Delta state and Chairman of the PDP 2018 National Convention Planning Committee, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, said he polled 693 votes.
He was defeated at the primary by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who got 1,532 votes while Senate President Bukola Saraki polled 317 votes to emerge third.
Other aspirants at the party’s primary includes: Senator Jonah Jang with 19 votes, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed had 5 votes, Senator David Mark had 35 votes, Alhaji Taminu Turaki had 65 votes, Sule Lamido had 96 votes, Attahiru Bafarawa had 48 votes, Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe state had 111 votes while Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso got 158 votes.
