Mu’azu, who led a 15 man team arrived IBB’s residence at about 12:05 pm, together with former Speaker of the House of Representatives Ghali Umar Na’Abba, the PDP National Youth Leader, Abdullahi Maibasira, and the Niger State PDP acting chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji.
It was gathered that all the personalities that accompanied the national chairman were excused from the meeting to allow the two leaders to have private session.
Emerging from the meeting the host, General Babangida, who was visited by members of the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in November last year, declined to talk to newsmen.
“I am not going to say a word. I am not talking,” IBB said.
But the PDP national chairman said he was in Minna in continuation of his meeting with some elders of the party since he emerged as the chairman of the ruling party said, “I am here in continuation of my visit to our elders and I had a fruitful meeting with the former President. It was a fruitful meeting.
“What we discussed is not meant for public consumption. All I can say is that we had a fruitful discussion,” he added.
The national chairman of the ruling party also had another meeting with Niger State governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu that lasted for about 20 minutes.
Weekly Trust reports that since becoming the chairman of the PDP after the resignation of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, Mu’azu has visited some aggrieved members of the party, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, where they also met behind closed doors.
The crisis in the party led to the defection of five PDP governors to the APC, along with many other members of the state and national assemblies.
