The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has ruled out any merger or coalition with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The faction has threatened to take legal action against individuals using the name of the party for such moves. 

National Chairman of the party,  Hon. Abdulrahman Muhammed, made the point during the inaugural meeting of the new National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza in Abuja.

He said while the party respects the fundamental right to freedom of expression, it would not tolerate actions that amount to a disregard for the rule of law or that seek to bring the party into disrepute.

“The PDP will take all necessary legal steps to address any conduct that borders on contempt of court or misrepresentation, in accordance with extant laws,” Mohammed said. 

The leadership under Turaki recently met with the National Working Committee, NWC of the ADC and some of its chieftains a development the Spokesman of the faction, Ini Ememobong said was an ongoing process.
