Results from three LGAs of Cross River State show that the ruling party in the state, PDP, has taken the lead.
So far, the PDP leads in Calabar South with 14, 535 votes while its closest rival APC got 4,773 votes.
In Akpabuyo LGA, militants were reported to have stormed much of the polling centres and issue of over-voting was addressed. Eventual results showed PDP had 7, 842 votes while APC got 1, 997.
In Bekwara LGA, Dr Julius Aga from UNICAL who was the returning officer said the collation officers were attacked by hoodlums and part of the result sheets taken from them. However, his report showed that PDP won with 13,784 votes, APC got 5, 881 and LP 1, 300.
INEC Returning officer for the state, Prof Comfort Ekpo of University of Uyo was yet to make formal announcement of the Cross River State governorship result.
