PDP NWC approves Nazif’s nomination as deputy chair, North

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the nomination of Senator Suleiman Nazif (Wakilin Arewa) as the new Deputy National Chairman (North), of the party.

Nazif replaced Senator Babayo Gamawa who was expelled by the party over alleged anti-party activities and later died after joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP in a statement yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the approval is in furtherance of Section 47(6) of the PDP Constitution.

Nazif is a one-time member of the House of Representatives and two-time senator. He served as chairman, Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity as well as chairman, Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He holds a degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
