Youths under the aegis of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Concerned Youth Wing, Plateau State chapter, yesterday staged a protest in Jos, the state capital, against the appointment of caretaker committee chairmen in four local government councils of Riyom, Jos North, Jos South and Barkin Ladi.

The youths stormed the house of assembly carrying placards with different inscriptions, and despite the heavy downpour, kept chanting solidarity songs.

Spokesman of the group, Comrade Hussaini Garba Mohammed, in his address lamented that the appointment of caretaker committee chairmen was uncalled for, stressing that Governor Simon Lalong ought to have consulted relevant stakeholders before making such appointment.
