The Global Peace Foundation has urged youth to use non-violence form of communication to make their demands.

The country Director of the foundation, Rev. Joseph John Hayab, during a training of 100 youth in Abuja, noted that violence communications lead to destruction.

“In today’s world, many assume that to prove that one was strong and greater than others was through the show of violence. Sadly, this flaw is often exhibited by Nigerians and manipulated in many African countries and other parts of the world.”

While stating that children learn the traits from their parents, he said intimidation and coercion cause harm when used to derive actions causes harm in many instances.

“Such a culture has made those in power or places of authority such as government officials, security agencies, and the rest treat fellow citizens and the people they meet as inferiors individuals, an attitude that dampens their spirits and reduces their ability to be productive.”

He therefore called for an urgently institute of a nationwide campaign for citizens to cultivate the culture and spirit of non-violent communication before things get out of hand.
