The National Pension Commission (Pencom) has commenced on the spot assessment of the ongoing data recapture of over 9000 contributors nationwide.
The Commissioner Technical, PenCom, Mr Anyim C. Nyerere who led a team of Pencom staff to the spot check at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja at the weekend express satisfaction at the progress and assured that the commission is determined to ensure that every single contributor has his recorded updated.
Nyerere said: “in order to fast-track the exercise, the Commission approved a proposal of the Pension fund operators (PenOp), for an industry Shared Service Initiative (SSI).
“PenOp has engaged agents to conduct the capture on behalf of all PFAs. This arrangement will enhance efficiency in carrying out the exercise as it would allow an agent to recapture all RSA holders in the same organization on behalf of all PFAs.
“It also affords us the opportunity to ensure that all the contributors that don’t have their national identification number will utilise this same agent to do so because there is a symbiotic relationship between the agents undertaking the data capture and the National Identity Management Agency (NIMC) because it is a prerequisite for the data recapture.
