Last year, hip-pop duo, Paul and Peter Okoye better known as P-Square, set a new record when they became the first set of African artistes who had over 30 million YouTube views for a video. Then last April, the brothers set a new record when their ‘Personally‘ video hit a staggering 40 million views on the social media platform.
The video which was released on June 21, 2013, now has over 50 million views on YouTube, which makes it the first music video by an African act to cross the 50 million mark while music videos from Nigerian artistes like Olamide’s ‘Eleda Mi’ and Mavins ‘Dorobucci’ and others have just hit a little above the one million mark. With this feat, P-Square seems to be far ahead in the game.
The video which was shot and directed by Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye became a hit song as it was well-received by fans and received massive air-play locally and internationally. According to the brothers, it was a song done to honour the memory of the late king of Pop, Michael Jackson who passed on at the age of 51 on June 25, 2009.
