Former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has described the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, as a paper weight politician.
Reno Omokri said this while answering question on the chances of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 presidential election during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
When asked whether the PDP camp is jittery over Obi, Omokri said, “There is nothing like that. You know Peter Obi is just a paper weight politician and I am going to prove my point. What I mean is this: there is a lot of cyberbullying from Peter Obi’s supporters and it’s organized, but when elections start, they will know it is beyond social media. People are not feeling free to speak of what they believe because they are afraid of that cyber bullying.”
Omokri added, “Peter Obi speaks of moving Nigeria from consumption to production. This is a man who is the single largest individual importer in Nigeria. The reason why Dangote Tomato processing company in Kano was having challenges and had to shut down was because of people like Peter Obi who are importing cheaper products.”
