The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has protested the insecurity across the country, advising the Federal Government to urgently seek international support to tackle the challenge before it is too late.

Speaking in Kano at the close of a three‑day national fasting and prayer held from Friday to Sunday, PFN National President, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, said Nigeria’s security situation has reached intolerable levels, with banditry, kidnappings and communal violence spreading across many states.

Represented by the Kano chapter Chairman, Reverend Elkanah Enweluzor, the fellowship lamented that several communities in Oyo, Kwara, Taraba, Plateau, Benue, Southern Kaduna and Borno have become “killing fields,” while the plight of the Chibok girls, Leah Sharibu, and the mob killing of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto remain unresolved.

PFN alleged that the government has been recruiting “repented” Boko Haram insurgents into the armed forces, warning that such a policy undermines national security and emboldens killers.

“Our valiant generals and gallant soldiers are being killed like chickens because our security system has been infiltrated and fatally compromised,” Bishop Oke declared.

He accused political elites of focusing on elections while ignoring the bloodshed, describing the situation as a betrayal of the government’s constitutional duty to safeguard lives and property.

The fellowship urged churches nationwide to unite in prayer and advocacy, insisting that silence only emboldens killers and their sponsors.

Also speaking in Ondo State, PFN Chairman, Bishop Opeyinka Joshua Kolawole, said the prayer gathering was part of efforts to seek divine intervention against insecurity and forces threatening peace in the nation.

He added that Christians must remain steadfast in prayer and unity.

PFN maintained that beyond prayers, authorities must take firm action to address insecurity and halt attacks threatening lives, faith and national peace.
