Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Kano state branch has pledged to establish drug information centre as part of its contribution to address the lingering menace of drug abuse in the state.
The centre will render free services on enquiries related to use of drugs, prescription advice and other vital information needed on drug usage.
The PSN chairman Kano branch, Pharmacist Bala Maikudi stated this during a grand dinner organised in honour of the outgoing PSN’s national President, Pharmacist Ahmed Ibrahim Yakasai held in Kano.
Maikudi said the menace of drug abuse was an issue that needs urgent intervention and the society found it necessary to contribute its quota.
In his remark, former governor of Kano state, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau described Yakasai as a visionary leader whose contribution towards the development of PSN and Kano state could not be quantified.
