A philanthropist in Gusau, Alhaji Dauda Lawan Dare, has constructed a 2.5km access road in the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State.
Commissioning the road, the state governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, expressed gratitude for the good gesture.
He urged other well-to-do members of the host community to also strive to extend similar support to the institution.
He stressed that education is the main springboard to the attainment of every social and economic development, particularly in aspects of youth capacity building and intellectual development to prepare them for life’s challenges.
In an interview with journalists after the commissioning, the deputy vice chancellor of the university, Professor Bilkisu Aminu Shinkafi, said she is highly encouraged with the positive attitude of some individuals and the government toward supporting the university.
