A philantropist  from Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State , Mr Stephen Imuokhuede Ohimai, has donated over 10,000 notebooks, school bags and writing materials to both private and public schools  in the area

Some of the beneficiary schools include Evbiobe Central School, Sabo, Owato Primary School, Oke-Old, Eme Primary School, Umuehi Central School, Uzebba among others.

Presenting the items, Imuokhuede said the donation is part of his contribution towards the education of children in the locality.

He said for any nation to develop in all human endeavour, priority should be given to education of the people especially those in the rural areas.

“I believe in children and their future, that is why I came to celebrate my birthday with them so that they will learn how to give back to the society because they are the leaders of tomorrow that we all look up to,” he said.

He advised the students to focus on their studies and not get involved in  vices that will truncate their educational pursuit .

While commending the teachers in the local government  for the good work in ensuring the students get the best, he called on parents to ensure that their children do not skip classes.

Responding on behalf of the benefitting schools, the principal, Akinluyi Memorial College, Sabo, Ven Ohiosimuan Anthony, commended the donor and assured him that the items would be distributed to the students.
