The Student Photography Enthusiasts Club (SPEC), University of Benin (Uniben) Chapter has marked its first year anniversary. The event took place on Sunday at Orchard, Faculty of Social Sciences. Founder of the club and final year student of Medical Physiology, Chux Anthony, said the event was organized because the club achieved great success in the past one year. He said the club was formed out of the desire to unite student photographers and give them a chance to speak with one voice on campus. He said the club’s membership strength had increased.
“Over a year ago, I thought of forming this club because the Uniben security personnel’s harassment made it hectic to practice photography as an individual. I felt by forming the club and registering it with the university authorities, the harassment would stop.
