Photokina – Epson launches Stylus Pro range of latest printers

The newly launched printers are the upgrades to the already popular Epson Stylus Pro 9800 and Epson Stylus Pro 7800 printers respectively. Both the newly launched printers use UltraChrome K3 inks and TFP head thus delivering higher quality prints at faster speeds. Both printers have the size of 24 inches x 42 inches and they have the printing speed of up to 40 square meter on hourly basis. Both attracted a lot of attention due to their upgraded features when launched at the Photokina this week. An eight-color inkset (which will also include three black/greys) when used with these printers will produce smooth and wide tonal range of image. The large color gamut comes up with no bronzing and hardly any metamerism. Both the newly launched models can use SpectroProofer spectrophotometer which is used for better calibration. It also helps in print quality verification and profiling. The new printers will be available to the public from 1st January 2011 for a massive price of £2,595 for the Epson Stylus Pro 7890 and £5,195 for the Epson Stylus Pro 9890.
