Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has commissioned a brand-new 60-bed cottage hospital in Demsa town, marking a significant milestone in the area’s healthcare delivery history.
This secondary health facility is the first to be established in the Demsa Local Government Area headquarters since its creation in 1991, a span of 33 years.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the health sector, ensuring comprehensive healthcare service delivery, and disease control.
He emphasized that his government has left no stone unturned in prioritizing the well-being of Adamawa citizens.

In alignment with the national healthcare policy, Governor Fintiri announced plans to establish cottage hospitals in each of the 21 local government areas of the state.
He highlighted his administration’s significant investments in the health sector, including the establishment of a world-class laboratory, a dialysis center, building and rehabilitation/ renovation of hospitals, and clinics. This also includes the equipping and furnishing of the hospitals and clinics.
Hon. Kate Mamuno, the member representing Demsa in the State House of Assembly, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for executing numerous projects in her constituency.
Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Chief Felix Tamgwami, praised Governor Fintiri for his swift responses to containing emerging diseases such as Lassa Fever and Measles in the state.
This development is expected to significantly enhance healthcare services in Demsa and surrounding areas, addressing the long-standing needs of the community.
