Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, on Wednesday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, whom he described as a “father to all”.

Speaking during the visit to Dantata’s residence in Kano, Obi expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the nonagenarian industrialist, whom he said not only built an empire but also nurtured generations of successful entrepreneurs and contributed immensely to Nigeria’s socioeconomic development.

“We are here today to mourn and condole with the immediate family and all of us, because this is a loss that touches the entire nation,” Obi said. “Alhaji Aminu Dantata was not just a successful businessman—he built other successful people. He cared for everyone and was a father figure to many.”

He noted that Dantata’s life symbolized humility, philanthropy, and national service, describing his death as “the end of an era.”

Obi offered prayers for the repose of the late Dantata’s soul and prayed to the Almighty to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and continue to bless the family he left behind.

“He lived an exemplary life, investing not only in business but in people. His legacy will continue to inspire us all. May God continue to bless this great family and bless Nigeria,” Obi concluded.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a renowned philanthropist and one of the pillars of Northern Nigeria’s business landscape, passed away recently at the age of 94. His death has drawn tributes from across the country, with many hailing his role in shaping Nigeria’s commerce and industry, as well as his deep commitment to humanitarian causes.
