He said the chairman told the players to step up their performance each time they are playing away from home because away points would play a crucial role in deciding the eventual winners of the league.
Malikawa said the players were also assured of the unflinching support of the state government just as they were charged to reciprocate government support by retaining the league title.
Malikawa added that the team is in high spirit to win today’s match against Heartland in order to remain comfortably on top of the league table.
“Our chairman, Alhaji Abba Yola this afternoon (Thursday) addressed the players before they departed to Abuja for the replay against Heartland FC. He charged the players to improve on their away matches.
“Although this is our home match, we are playing away in Abuja and he wants the players to take it like an away match. He said winning home matches without doing the same when they play away is not speaking well of them as defending champions of the league.
“The chairman pledged the support of government and urged the players to reciprocate the unprecedented support they are enjoying from government.
“After his address, the chairman released the team the brand new 44 seater bus that was donated to Kano Pillars by our amiable and sports loving governo,r Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso. It is the bus that conveyed the players to Abuja for the match against Heartland”, he stated.
