Pillars’ Sheriff Isah opened scoring for the home side in the 21 minute and team mate Gambo Mohammed increased the tally in the 36 minute.

Efforts by the peoples elephants to reduce the tally proved abortive as the defence line of Pillars warded off all dangerous incursions by the former African champions.

In the second half, the visitors piled more pressure on their host but it was Pillars’ Nasir Ali who sealed victory for the Kano team in the 74 minute.

Coach of Pillars, Salisu Yusuf attributed his team’s victory over Enyimba to hard work and dedication on the part of his players.

The coach said: “I am happy not just because of the three points but also the way my boys played today (yesterday). They played to instruction and victory was inevitable. We hope to keep winning”.
