The League Management Company (LMC) has slammed a whopping N9 Million fine on Kano Pillars football club for breaching the Nigeria Professional Football (NPFL) Rules during the MatchDay 23 fixture against neighbours Katsina United in Kano on Saturday, April 16.

In addition to the three points deducted from the already accrued points, Pillars have been banished to the MKO Abiola national stadium where they are to play their remaining matches in the 2022 NPFL season.

The Sani Abacha stadium Kano, the home ground of Pillars has also been banned indefinitely from hosting NPFL matches.

Meanwhile the LMC has also ruled that the abandoned match will be concluded (starting from the 79th minute) at the MKO Abiola stadium at a later date to be communicated in due course subject to Rule B13.55.1.

It also said Pillars will be responsible for the reasonable cost of concluding the match including the cost of the away team as may be determined by the LMC.

The LMC in the exercise of its summary jurisdiction had found Pillars guilty of pitch invasion leading to discontinuation of the match, failure to provide adequate security, failure to ensure restriction of access to unauthorised persons and vandalisation of the visiting team’s official bus.

Pillars, however, have 48 hours within which to either submit to the summary jurisdiction and the sanctions or elect to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel.
