The league which recorded 12 goals on the opening day will see reigning champions Pillars hosting Bayelsa United FC inside the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Though the task of ending Pillars invincibility at home may be daunting, Coach Solomon Ogbeide said his wards are in Kano to play the defending champions and pick the maximum points at stake.
 “I can assure you my players will do their best to beat Kano Pillars in Kano. I know they have a very good home support in terms of fans but with good officiating and adequate security we will definitely leave the city with a good result.
But Pillars Technical Adviser, Okey Emordi said the match against Bayelsa United is like any other match for them as they are not ready to underrate any of their opponents.
“The league is a long marathon and as they come calling so we shall take the matches on but for me, I cannot underrate any team. Bayelsa United are a good side and we are going to play them with the mind set of starting the league on a good note.
“We have our challenges because of the ugly robbery incident but one thing I can say is that we are not allowing that to weigh us down. We will go to the pitch like the champions we are and do our fans happy,” Emordi said.
In Ibadan, Heartland FC of Owerri will be guest of 3SC in the other match billed for today.
On Sunday, Sunshine Stars FC of will host in-form Gabros. The Akure Arsenal who got a deserved goalless draw against Sharks of Port Harcourt in week one will have to contend with the attacking prowess of their visitors which produced two goals against Warri Wolves last Sunday.
With Nwachukwu Chidi, Nwosu Oluchukwu and Onuoha Uchena spearheading the attacking line of Gabros, Sunshine Stars defence line marshalled by Kunle Odunlami will have extra job to do.

Agba, who joined the Enugu side from Kaduna United said he hopes to score more goals to help Rangers win the league title.

“I hope to score more goals for Rangers this season so as to attract the national team handlers. I want to play for the national team.”

The fixtures involving clubs in continental club competitions were rescheduled by the League Management Company (LMC) with the exception of the Pillars versus Bayelsa United match.
The rescheduled matches will hold on Wednesday, March 18 with Lobi Stars hosting Enyimba, Warri Wolves playing host to Giwa FC while Dolphins play away to Abia Warriors FC on Thursday, March 19.
