After more than twelve months of competition, Dolphins emerged winners of the 2010/2011 NPL followed closely by Sunshine Stars, Warri Wolves and Kano Pillars.

In a chat with Feverpitch, the General Manager of Pillars, Alhaji Abba Galadima said the technical crew had communicated the players on the resumption date as he said all the players would return to Kano on November 29 and resume full training on the 30th.

The football administrator who expressed happiness with the performance of the players said it was necessary for them to be given some days to go and see their families having been engaged for the whole year without a break.

He expressed hope that as disciplined players and true professionals, the players would all return to camp as arranged for the coaching crew to work on them in good time for the competition ahead.

“In view of the forthcoming Super 4 in Lagos which begins on December 12, we would be resuming on November 30. The players would be back in Kano on 29 and commence training on the 30th.

“The technical crew has communicated the players and we believe that as thorough professionals, they would keep to the day of resumption. It was necessary to allow the players go on break because they are human beings. They had played the season non-stop without seeing their families”.

Galadima also expressed confidence that his team would use the opportunity provided by the Super Four competition to win a laurel as he said that is just the chance left this season to win something and show appreciation to the government and teeming fans of the club.

“It is our desire to end the season with a trophy. Even if we are not going to play on the continent next season, we should be able to take home a trophy to justify the confidence reposed in us by the government and good people of the state”.

Galadima said the competition which is meant for the best four clubs in the Nigerian Premier League would be very tough.

“It is not going to be an easy one but we have the capacity to do well. We have some of the best players in the domestic league”, he assured.
