The former junior international sustained a muscle injury in Pillars 0-1 loss to Ocean Boys in week 10 of the NPL.
Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday, the skillful midfielder said the injury came at a wrong time but the team’s medical crew is working round the clock to get him back to fitness.
He said anytime he misses the opportunity to play for Pillars, he is never a happy man.
“Yes, I strained my thigh muscle and I was in serious pains. Well, the team doctor has assured me that in three weeks, I will return to action.
“I believe this is true because already I am feeling less pain in the leg and I hope to be back soon. I hate to miss my team’s matches. This is the time that the club needs me most. All the same, my team mates are doing their best but I can’t wait to be back”, he stated.
As he waits to come back, Shagari has already missed Pillars 2-0 win over Enyimba FC and he is going to miss today’s game against Akwa United.
The hard fighting player will also miss the road trip to ABS next week.
Shagari consolation therefore is his marriage plans which are ongoing. He hopes to formally wed his heartthrob in April.
