A not-for-profit organization, Plan International, has constructed 32 classrooms for internally displaced persons to enable them have equal opportunities in education for a better future.

The organization also trained 299 primary schools teachers on theory and practice of teaching, methodology, psychosocial support and live skills.

Speaking during the handover of the project, the Emergency Response Manager, Katharina Witkowski, said the 32 temporary learning classrooms were built at Kaleri Community in Mafa Local Government Area while 42 others are currently under construction in 15 communities across six local government areas.

Commissioning the classrooms, Borno State Chairman, Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Shettima Kullima represented by Ali Abatcha appreciated the efforts of the organization to support the state government to revamp education sector in the state.

The Ward Head of Kaleri, Bulama Aji Mohammed, praised the Plan International and called on other NGOs to emulate them.
