Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, said the state government has acquired more than 200 trucks of fertiliser for distribution to its citizens as part of palliative measures.
Speaking in Jos the Plateau State capital, during an inspection of the fertilizer at the 551 Nigeria Airforce Station in Jos, the governor said the primary aim of providing the fertiliser was to support and subsidise agriculture, in order to ensure food security within the state and across the nation.
He noted that a well-structured distribution plan is underway to guarantee that the fertiliser reaches the intended beneficiaries for agricultural purposes.
“We are pleased to report that we have ordered an excess of 200 trucks of fertiliser, and they are currently being offloaded. Once we finalise the logistics for distribution, we will promptly initiate the distribution process across all the 17 local government areas,” he said.

Mutfwang further expressed the importance of ensuring that the fertiliser is used for actual farming and not resold, stressing that the government’s commitment to boosting food production on the Plateau and supporting agriculture for the benefit of the people is fully comprehensive.
He reiterated his administration’s dedication to enhancing the profitability of agriculture in the state for its citizens.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (PLASEMA), Hon. Sunday Abdu, said more than 170 trucks of fertiliser have been uploaded, with an additional 40 trucks waiting to be processed.
