An aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the governorship primaries in Plateau State, Jude Dakur, has rejected the outcome of the exercise held on Friday, alleging that no election took place in several local government areas.

Dakur, who contested the primary against retired Major General John Sura, faulted the outcome even before the results were announced.

The governorship aspirant called on supporters of the party to dismiss the result.

Dakur specifically named Jos North, Kanam, Qua’an Pan, Pankshin, Bassa, and Jos East local government areas as places where no primary election was conducted.

He alleged that officials saddled with the responsibility of conducting the exercise failed to deploy to designated centers across the affected councils, but instead “sat in hotels and private residences to concoct names.”

Describing the process as lacking credibility and transparency, Dakur insisted that it fell short of acceptable democratic standards.

“There was no ADC primary in Plateau State in these local government areas,” he said, calling on the party’s appeal committee to urgently intervene.

His Director-General, Rengkat Bakpet, in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, said formal complaints had been lodged with the appeal committee by stakeholders and agents from the affected councils.

Dakur appealed to the committee to reject the results from the specified LGAs, cancel the entire process, and order a fresh exercise.
