The Plateau State Government has acquired a N10 billion infrastructure loan from the Federal Government to complete roads awarded by the Jonah Jang administration.
One of such roads is the Mararaba Jama’a – Secretariat Junction federal highway, which reconstruction reached appreciable levels with the provision of a flyover at the Secretariat Junction.
The immediate past administration had awarded the multi-billion naira job to PW Nigeria Limited. The project which touches major parts of the city was partly executed before work stopped during the last elections.
Jonah Jang’s successor Simon Lalong who said he was committed to completing all projects critical to the development of the state, had toured the locations of the projects, assuring that the government will prudently utilize the N10 billion loan.
Sunday Hyat, Permanent Secretary at the state ministry of Works, who conducted the governor on the tour, disclosed that the state had intervened in four federal owned roads to the tune of over N20 billion with only about N1.2 billion released so far as reimbursement to the state.
