Plateau to evacuate roadside traders by January – Lalong

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, says the state government would in January evacuate all roadside traders as part of  efforts to ease  doing of business in the state.

The governor also said all illegal motor parks would be closed down to ensure security and an enabling environment for businesses and other activities in the state.

The governor made the declaration during a roundtable dialogue organised by the Plateau Investment and Property Development Agency (PIPC) and Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA)

The governor assured the business community in the state that the government had listened to their challenges and would do everything possible to proffer  solutions to them.

“Let me assure you that our administration will do everything within its power to sustain the peace we have restored to Plateau State even as we continue to deal with crime and criminality. Without security, businesses cannot thrive and investors will run away.’’

Chrysogonus Yilzak, Managing Director of PIPC said the commission was in partnership with  the ministry of housing to access funding from the federal government for citizenry in the state to create employment.
