The state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr Steven Barko, who was represented by the ministry’s Secretary of Administration, Mr Acho Koje, said the agricultural transformation agenda of the federal government placed Nigeria on a global map with the help of ICT.
“The world is changing from what it used to be to a new world where people use the internet to communicate instead of relying on papers. We cannot be left behind and that is why we organised this in-house training to educate you on the use of ICT to boost performance,” he said.
The facilitator of the training, Mr Emmanuel Yakzum, who stressed the importance of ICT in agricultural production, said the ministry had faced series of challenges for lack of ICT knowledge but expressed optimism that the situation would be addressed after the training.
