However, apart from the outrage the abduction has spurred across the world with the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, it seems the Nigerian government  has still not come to grips with the reality on ground.
To counter the #BringBackOurgirls protesters that have vowed to protest until the girls are rescued, suddenly a new group has emerged with all the imprint of government, calling itself #ReleaseOurGirls.
This group praises government and the Nigerian military, saying they should not be blamed.
This pro-governmnet group was met with  the Chief of Defence Staff, Alex  Badeh , even though when the #BringBackOurGirls group went few weeks ago, he didn’t meet them, rather  few were called inside where they  were met by some directors.
The military has got a lot of public bashing in recent times, but they should not confound their already tarnished image with taking sides, even though they are ‘government’, but the #BringBackOurGirls protesters are doing it also for the sake of rescuing the girls. This sends a wrong signal and diminishes their position.
As if that is not bad enough, you read every day one  thing or the other about trading blames between  the government and the opposition party All Progressive Congress (APC) on the abduction of the girls.
Even the president’s wife,  Patience Jonathan had  at first  doubted the abduction of the girls,  insisting that no girls were missing.
Before her,  Kema  Chikwe,  the People’s Democratic  Party (PDP) Women Leader has  also expressed doubt about the girls’ abduction at the  PDP Women Prayer last month. She said ,“ How did it happen? Who saw it happen?  Who did not see it happen?  Who is behind this?”
Now two days ago, according to reports the government sponsored #ReleaseOurGirls has attacked the #BringBackOurgirls group under the eyes of the police. What does the government want to achieve through this, I wonder.
The  Minister of Information,  Labaran Maku,  also two days ago said 90 percent of #BringBackOurGirls  protesters are APC members. This  shows the mindset of this government and its insensitivity.
If what he said is true,  he is saying in other words that the  ruling party PDP members don’t care about the girls, apparently they ‘don’t give a damn’.
As it is President Goodluck Jonathan has not deemed it fit to visit Chibok and commiserate with the parents of the abducted girls and the Borno Sate government.
But does it mean that you have to be in APC to feel the pain of the girls’ abduction, what about the world-wide protests, are the protesters APC members too?
The parents of these girls are waiting for the government to rescue their daughters safely to them and the government should do all it can to do so, but sponsoring a rival group to counter the pressure from the original group will not do.
However, people all over the country and in some countries pray for the release of the girls, while government and its supporters relish in blaming the opposition by its lapses. But there is God o!
