Plumber docked for allegedly stabbing man with broken bottle

The police yesterday arraigned a plumber, Ezekiel David, before an Ebute Meta magistrates’ court in Lagos for allegedly stabbing one Godwin Giwa on the chest with a broken bottle.

Twenty-four-year old David, who resides at 24, Church Street, Magodo-Isheri, Lagos is facing a charge of assault.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp. Jimah Iseghede, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 12, at Hotel Royal, Ogun River Street., Isheri.

Iseghede said the accused stabbed the complainant when a fight broke out between them at a club.

He said the offence contravened Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The magistrate, Mrs O. Kusanu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Feb. 28 for mention. (NAN)
