A police officer, Ahmed Yusuf (ASP), who was kidnapped last week at his Oloje residence in Ilorin, Kwara State, has been rescued.

Yusuf, of the IGP Monitoring Team attached to the Kwara State Police Command, was rescued in a bush bordering Kwara and Oyo states through a joint effort of the police, Amotekun, hunters and vigilantes on Sunday.

City & Crime learnt that before the rescue the kidnappers had demanded a N7m ransom.

The police spokesman of the command, Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said the hoodlums abandoned the victim following severe pressure mounted by the rescue team.
