The Osun State Police Command yesterday arraigned a 40-year-old man, Adepoju Taofeeq, for allegedly defrauding 186 residents of N45 million on the pretext of getting loans for them from a bank.
The Police Prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that the accused committed this offence between 2012 and 2015 in Osogbo, Osun State.
The prosecutor said the offence committed by the accused person was contrary to and punishable under Sections 422, 419, and 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume 2, Laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence and his counsel Abdul Fatau prayed the court to grant him bail.
The Magistrate, Ade Awodele granted the accused person bail with N10 million with two sureties who must be civil servants not below level 15.
