The police has arraigned one Chris Mario of Jabi, Abuja,  before a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, on a two-count charge of  criminal force and assault.

The prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, told the court that Aondona Fiase of the same area, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station, Abuja, on April 21.

Dalhatu said on the same date, the defendant allegedly broke into her apartment and beat her up, and in the process, she lost a tooth and sustained injuries.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened sections 264 and 246 of the Penal Code.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one sureties in like sum, adding that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case to May 30 for hearing. (NAN)
